Thank you for your interest in violin lessons. I have been playing the violin for over 30 years, and have been teaching for close to 20 years, both privately and at music schools in Vancouver, Canada. I have been teaching for a few years in the UK, and am currently booking lessons in St Albans and online.
I teach children starting from the age of 7, and especially enjoy teaching adults. I’m dedicated to finding practical solutions to students’ technical problems, and also try to teach with patience as well as humour, because while violin playing is hard work, in the end music should be enjoyable.
I am happy to work with every student to study the type of music that they are interested in, while rooting the study in proper violin technique. Learn to prepare for examinations or just play for fun!
I hold an ARCT diploma in Violin Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. I am also a composer and actor, and have served as Assistant Music Director on several stage musical productions as well as served as a composer on several short film soundtracks.
Rates are £40 per hour and pro-rated for shorter lessons.
